If you enjoy Creedence as everyone does, you will surely love the strong riffs and well written lyrics of Blue Moon Swamp. Bring it down to jelly roll!!
This album represents the proof of John's brilliance. Decades after Clearwater he put this together. Creedence roots are still evident with newer sure to be classics like "Hot Rod Heart" which he is performing live to this date. Can't loose with this disk!

John Fogerty Still Gargles With Swamp Water

Pros: When He's Good He's Awesome
Cons: A Few Tracks I Could Do Without
I was amazed to find that John Fogerty, vocalist and one of two brothers comprising half of Creedence Clearwater Revival, hails from Central California. Yes, here in the fertile valley of the San Joaquin, who would of guessed it?! Not with the swamp-inflected stylings that are right up there with the best of Dr John, The Night Tripper, the original bayou Choogler. Besides his southern-sounding vocals, Fogerty is quite the song writer, and this CD with twelve original songs, maintains that distinction. He also plays guitar, steel guitar and dobro. He's one of those all around musicians who...

Let That Blue Boy Play!!

Pros: a terrific range of rock and roll, country, blues
Cons: none
I miss the cigarette-char in Fogerty's voice -- the one that sang "Travellin' Band" some 35 years ago. But age, wisdom and better living can do that to rock and roll. I can't complain about what time does -- be like shoutin' in a windstorm. If you gotta make a minor sacrifice like a perfect sandpaper rock and roll singing to come up with joyous and energetic masterpieces like Blue Moon Swamp, hey, I'm all for it. The singing voice Fogerty has now is crystalline yet plain spoken -- songs anyone can sing. Blues and soul numbers like 110 in the Shade are even better, you can sing 'em and know...

Again He Brings Southern Rock Together with Blues

Pros: Great blend of music sounds
Cons: Not much hard grinding CCR
If you are a John Fogerty fan you must get this album. He brings together sounds of soulful blues with his old southern rock sound that made him famous with his band Creedence Clearwater Revival. In this album, you will get a mix of energetic songs with a touch of country in them that are fun to dance to such as Southern Streamline, Blueboy, and Rambunctious Boy. He also mixes in some slow blues songs that really convey meaning like A Hundred and Ten in the Shade and Bad Bad Boy. Other songs are just plain rockin' like Rattlesnake Highway and Walking in a Hurricane. John even decided to make.

Pros: Great rock music
Cons: My wife would rather hear Sinatra
Blue Moon Swamp is simply one of the best CDs I have bought in a long time. When I pickup a rock and roll album, this is the kind of music I wish to hear. These songs are meant to be turned up loud. I can't help but sing along to such songs as Southern Streamline, Blueboy, and Bring It Down To Jelly Roll. A crunchy twangy guitar, a beat that won't let you keep your feet still, and Fogerty's harmony create the sounds that backup these simple but fun, nostalgic, sometimes bluesy songs. I didn't think he had a song like "Joy Of My Life" in him. I read somewhere it's the first love song he every..

Pros: great album, one of his best
Cons: none
I was a major CCR fan in the 60's and 70's and really enjoyed their country-style rock. It was good music, it was my college years and I managed to get practically almost all their albums during those years on vinyl. Whenever I hear one of their songs on the radio, I have to crank up the volume! Great driving music. So often when singers make a comeback years later, they've lost it! Not this dude by one stinking iota!!! Very seldom does an album literally floor me the first time I hear it, but this is one of them! His voice is still in fine shape, he looks wonderful (can't stand to see guys...
