Blackberry 8830

It's a nice phone..really great for someone who travels overseas since it is a worldphone...but it has NO camera (and i NEED a camera), so that is why I went to a blackberry curve instead :)

This phone is as good as it gets for sending and receiving emails. Nice to look down and get instant email without opening folders, etc. The only other phone I had any interest was the Iphone and I really like it also, but just not the same kind of application. If you need something that works for business the 8830 is great. Maps, multi email, call quality are all excellent.

The Blackberry is great but unfortunately does not work in my area (The Bahamas)as only roaming is possible on the CDMA network that we have. GSM cannot communicate with this 'unlocked' phone here

I needed to get my investment messages to buy and sell stock while traveling internationally. This Blackberry does the trick. You can adjust the type for us visually challenged people. The screen is good color and easily read except in full sun light. Because I use the internet a lot, the battery charge lasts about one day ao I have a charger in the car and an extra which works internationally as well as the normal electrical chargers and adapters and have been able to charge it with no issue in Mexico. Later this year I will be traveling to 7 countries over 30 days and will give it a full international workout in differing locations. The phone works handsfree with Bluetooth. Since I have used a Blackberry for 5 years, I am partial to them. There is no camera and I would like longer lasting battery life.

This is my first Blackberry experience and I am impressed. Blackberry has incredible text ans instant messenging with other blackberry users. Surpasses the messaging service with the Treo or Motorola! The screen is very good quality... great mp3 player. The only downside is that it does not have a built in camera and that is a major flaw.
