This is the second book in a series of 3. I had picked up Blue Dahlia at work and after reading a few pages, I was pulled into the story. Nora Roberts really brings the characters to life. The story revolves around the lives of 3 women of 3 different generations. The story is never dull. I highly recommend.
This is the second book of the In The Garden trilogy. It revolves around three women all at different stages in their lives who are brought together. Each book is one of their stories and this one is of the eldest, Roz. Its warming to see this woman who was widowed young with 3 sons and had a miserable ex husband blossom herself. She tried for so long to provide and survive that she had been neglecting her love life entirely. Its warming to watch her open up to the right man. She's a no non-sence woman with great class and self respect. Its nice how when Robert's writes a trilogy the other characters weave themselves throughout the entire series. I find it makes the story more complete. Great series. Makes me want to plant some flowers. Very recommended.
It was in good condition and it was a sequile to the book I had already read. I was glad to get a paperback because I had gotten the 1st book in paperback form and like to keep the series together.
I collect series of books, I read this book several months ago, and decide to collect the series. I will be traveling so this will give me another chance to reread the book.
I like the condition the book came in, it was described as in good condition and no pages torn or bent and that's exactly how I received it. i was very pleased with this product.
This book was the second in a trilogy by Nora Roberts-It was to die for. Couldn't put it down. It was in excellent condition too. I have passed the trilogy from friend to friend!
I loved this book!! In my opinion, it's one of Nora Roberts best trilogy's. It's set in Memphis and I love anything set in the south! It's a good read and keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time!!
If a book is by Nora Roberts, I know I will enjoy it. This is the second in the trilogy relating the story of a century's old mansion in Tennessee. Harper House has been inhabited by Harpers for 100+ years. The current matriarch, Rosalind, is the focus of this book and she is an enjoyable, well-drawn woman. Roberts is a master in creating people, places, and situations that keep you turning the pages. Roberts is the master at creating a story that draws you in and makes the story so real you are there while it’s happening.
I stayed up until 4 a.m. to finish this book. It’s a love story and a mystery. It delves into family interactions with insight. One of the story lines has Roz’s ex trying to create havoc in her life and the way she handles it is an inspiration – as well as a naughty satisfaction when he causes his own downfall. I would definitely recommend this book as well as the other two in the trilogy – Blue Dahlia and Red Lily!!
Black Rose continued to be a great read. Nora Roberts has done it again. This is the second book in the trilogy and it is great. I have read most if not all of her works and she is one of the best writers around! She is also the best trilogy writer that I have come across! Just the right amount of romance and suspence!
I read Blue Dahlia and Black Rose while on summer layoff, I could not put them down. Black Rose continues the story of Harper House, its inhabitants (living and not) and In The Garden, where they all work. Roz is pretty much the focus of this book, she is just a great character, she is definitely strong in most respects and the scene at the country club with her ex was one of the highlights. Not all of the loose ends were tied up and I can't wait for Red Lily!
I am a huge fan of Nora! She is my favorite authors for trilogy's. I usually read all three books if avavlible in a matter of days.
Thsi series is so unique using the flower as a matphor for the character, wonderful. The story thrilling, and wonderful. She always adds just the right amount of fear with a dash of romantic. I enjoy her so much.
This book is about the matriach of this trilogy, Rosiland. She has a very tough exterior, but is the women all the characters are drawn to, and she is the glue that holds them together. That the main reason that Nora Roberts trilogy's are so great her glue that ties them, and the bonds that the women have.
