  My son LOVES this movie!!

Pro: story line, plot, graphics, characters.

Con: somewhat scary for younger kids.

**One needs to remember: this is a CHILDREN'S movie based on children's toys.**

I purchased this movie for my son's 4th birthday. We rented it from Blockbuster about 8 months prior and he hasn't stopped talking about it since then. This movie has a great plot, engaging story line, and surprisingly is not predictable like most kids' movies. The exchange of exotic characters keeps him interested. Not to mention, what little boy doesn't like robots! My son watches it everyday and my husband likes to watch it with him.

This movie does have some scary parts throughout. I would not recommend this for your average 4 year old. In my opinion, it would be better suited for kids ages 6 and up.

I actually enjoy sitting down with my sons and watching the Bionicle movies. They have a great story line and encourage the kids to stand up for what they believe in. They also reflect good morals and respect in the stories. I would recommend all 3 movies.

Good graphics. A well made movie.

This was our first introduction to the world of the Bionicles. Even though we did not know the characters or the background, the story line was easy to follow, and the graphics and sound flowed smoothly. It was put together very well.

The only thing the children wanted to see more of was the deleted scenes. The deleted scenes they put on the disc were short and not very interesting.

We are now going to start reading the books, because we understand that the next Bionicles movies (2 and 3) need more knowledge of that jandra to really enjoy them.

  A neat movie

I bought this movie for my daughters, ages 7 & 9. We watched it as a family and the girls really enjoyed it. I like animation and I enjoyed myself. (55 year old male). I would recomend it to people with children or who like animation.

  The best of the three
Review created: 08/04/07

I'm not a Bionicle fan, but my 6 year old is Bionicle fanatic and he enjoys this movie, as would most Bionicle fans. I think this is the best one of the three Bionicle movies.

My son was so excited to get this movie.
It is not a taxing movie to watch for kids or adults.

They talk about the "Great Spirit" which might be opffensive to some so I would let older kids who are rooted in their faith watch it.

Pros:
Vivid coloring, creative 3-D animation

Cons:
Plot is difficult to follow, Too many exotic characters

I don't know what I was expecting from a direct-to-video film based on Lego toys, but the luminous art work on the DVD caught my attention, and sparked my curiosity. What I discovered is that Bionicle: Mask Of Light is a visually stunning, fairly intriguing, children's fantasy action/adventure film that races along practically at the speed of light. The rather complex plot in this 74 minute full- length computer generated animation film, is set in a mythological kingdom on the Island of Mata Nui, populated by the robot-like Matoran people. There are six villages on the island, represented...

  Building blockbuster

Pros:
a wonderfully fun movie, adapting a really good toy line

Cons:
too short. Lewa Nuva's weird speech patterns

Lego, the toy company most known for making toys so small that the only way to effectively find them is to trod on them barefoot in the middle of the night, is now taking its first major foray into the world of cross-promotion: while most of their building sets have no sort of specific "storyline" to direct children's play, they finally created their own world with Bionicle. Besides the robot building sets there are trading cards, video games, novels, CDs, shoes, clocks, toothbrushes and every other manner of product you might imagine, including a new direct-to-video movie, Bionicle: Mask of..

  A captivating pilot movie...

Pros:
Good story, nice tie in to current mythos.

Cons:
simplistic story. Aimed at 10 year old market.

You know there is a phenomenon when a toy becomes a movie franchise. GI JOE and Barbie couldn't do it, nor oucld the care Bears or Cabbage patch Kids. Mostly, it's the other way around, witness Disney and Sesame Street. For those parents not yet tainted, Bionicles are quasi-alien robot/creatures invented by LEGO together with Hawaiian sounding names like TAKANUVA, or GALLI NUVA. They've been around for about five or six years. Designed originally for kids 7 and above, they have been steadily gathering momentum, so that they can be found now in playgrounds from 5 year olds to 12 year olds....

Pros:
imaginative, graphics are amazing, kids love it

Cons:
difficult story line

Like others have said the graphics in this movie are unbelievable! The story line was a little difficult to follow but my nine year old and three year old loved it. mabey they figured it all out. I did finally get it after watching it several times and then watching the second bionicle. I believe they reslized there mistake in this one. I would definately recomend it for kids ages 7-10. The color quality and technique to this movie were amazing. I think it was capativating in itself to just imagine those little legos coming to life and it not only feeds to the movie but to the childs...
