Bewitched
I expected the absolute worst and actually ended up warming up to this Remake. This is a decent movie made Better by Ferrell and Kidman
The first time I watched Bewitched I didn't like it. But being a night owl, this movie is on all the time. I ended up watching it a couple times and really started seeing the positive side.
Don't expect anything incredible, just come into the film with an open mind and you'll enjoy it.
This isn't Will Ferrells best work but it belongs in any Will Ferrell fans collection.

Rent or Buy?: Unless you're a huge Will Ferrell fan you'll do just fine renting this movie. Just remember- don't expect too much and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Bewitched had the billings for major movie success - Great name (hey its Bewitched right?!), great cast (Ferrell, Kidman, MacLaine, Caine - not bad!), good producing team, etc. But the movie was so-so - and I say that because I'm a diehard Will Ferrell fan... otherwise, I'd say it was worse! But while Will Ferrell provided lots of laughs and was quite good - there was no chemistry between him and Nicole Kidman... and I blame Nicole. She had no emotion throughout the movie and didn't show a moment of excitment or energy - in fact, I'd say she realized Tom Cruise earned the money and without him ... well she needs a check! I was surprised by her lack of energy and it sank the movie. Too bad because I expected much better!

Bewitched is one of those movies that seems to come on TV all the time. I decided to once again watch it.
The movie has some big names in it like Kidmann, Farell, Cain. :) Some of Will's scenes are great. It is so cool to watch him go over the deep end.
The movie itself is alright. It is good for a couple of laughs here and there but nothing else. It will never win any awards, however it is fun for an evening to watch with a beverage of your choice.

I love this movie. It's definitely a chick flick and helps to have loved the original Bewitched tv show. Saw it in theaters, bought the dvd. Later it disappeared so I bought it again because for me and my daughter, this is a repeat-watcher movie.
I think Nicole Kidman makes a great new Samantha and Will Ferrell is funny as usual. They are very cute together in this movie.

I am not pleased. Although I am sure that I'll be happy while watching the video, I feel taken by two things: the amount of money for "shipping and handling", in relation to the amount for the item, and the fact that the corner was broken upon receipt. ($3.99 for shipping -- the video was only .28) For that amount of money, I would expect that the shipper would have wrapped the dvd properly so that it wouldn't break during the shipment to me -- he/she only wrapped the dvd and the case in one piece of newspaper, not well wrapped. Consequently, the corner of the case broke.
I decided to buy the dvd because I thought it would be great to have in my library - I enjoyed the movie. I have a bad taste in my mouth because of what happened.

It's a fun spin-off of a great idea from many of our pasts. It is a great addition to my collection of chic flicks, without being immorally distasteful.

Familiarity with the television series, immortalized by Elizabeth Montgomery, was my primary reason for viewing this film. I didn't expect much from Nicole Kidman, and I wasn't disappointed.
However, I was surprised by the appearances of Sir Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine, and simply delighted by the family drawing room comedy that Nora Ephron created. The property possessed the posibility to be terminally boring, but Ephron gave the concept and plot a fresh spin that made it entertaining to watch.
"Bewitched" won't develop your conscience, but I think it is a great film for families, or to get away from the grind of the rat race. A solid buy, t bears watching more than once -- over time.

This large screen adaptation of the small screen favorite is a real snoozer. Even Shirley MacLaine and Michael Caine couldn't help this horrible script. The worst of it is that it has very little to do with Bewitched in the first place! If you loved the series, invest in the first season DVD set or something and leave this one where it belongs, mouldering on the shelf.

This was a good movie, if you liked and were familiar with the series on TV. I happen to like Nicole Kidman's work so I really enjoyed the movie. It was a bit slow, a little corney, but really worth watching.

Bewitched still twitchingI purchased this movie because i always loved Bewitched as a kid,and it was cheap.
well remakes are never as good as orignals, but it is a great family movie and we all enjoyed it together, It was very clean, just a nice little movie no bad language, or practically nude scenes you see in some so called family shows. I would buy it again in a minute.

Though this isn't Will Ferrel's greatest acting performance I personally really loved it! I don't know why it's only getting an Average review because I thought it was really cute and really funny. Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrel both did a great job and really got into the characters. I loved it!

I found this highly anticipated movie very disappointing. I love watching old episodes of bewitched like many other it brought laughter into the home although this movie did have its funny parts I felt that it did not do justice to the original bewitched episodes.

Next to Lost in Translation this was one of the worst movies I have seen. As a matter of fact I was ready to walk out of the theater after about 15 minutes. IMO it was box office theivery.
Nicole Kidman is a fine actress, worthy of a much better part. There was no chemistry between her character Samantha and Will Farrels character Darren. It was almost like the tow were acting separately from one another in different rooms.
It was not in keeping with the orginal TV series and took bits and pieces of the TV series and threw it together into a mismash of unrelated events. When it resorts to Will Farrel running buck naked in order to get a laugh you know its is bad. Who wants to see Will Farrel naked I sure don't and he certainly would not be my first choice. Shirley Mc Clain was not Endora, she was too nice, more like a fairy godmother than a mature caldron stirring witch with an attitude like the original Endora's character.
I give this movie 10 thumbs down. Sorry for those of you who own it. Donate to charity and take it as a write off.
