I like the CD very much. It arrived in excellent condition, plays as though it was brand new and I saved more than if I had bought it used at the CD store.

  Just Like A Concert

This cd is just like the concert! We saw him this summer and this was pretty much his line up. It is the very best of sweet baby James all grown up--and he still sounds sweet as ever. The songs include favorites like Fire and Rain, Up On The Roof, Carolina On My Mind. They are classics and he sings them like he's singing to a friend. It would make a thoughtful gift.

James Taylor - Another Greatest Hits, With A Couple Of New Things

Pros:
A cd full of mainstream hits - mostly from his earlier days.

Cons:
Yeh - you've probably got all of the other "greatest" hits, right?

Music is a huge part of my life. I know, there are gasps being heard across the nation with this revelation :). I appreciate lots of kinds and types of music and whether it's made by a human, a machine, a fat man (aka Lou Perlman), I really don't care. This is one area where me and my fellow music lovers have heated discussions. I think music serves many purposes in our lives and if one song does a good job at cheering us up and another does a good job at helping us to see inside of ourselves, that's a good thing. To get caught up in how it was made, the musicianship of the person whose name..

Fire, Rain, Country Roads and Carolina In My Mind: The Best Of James Taylor
Review created: 08/26/05

Pros:
Soothing, thoughtful soft-rock classics.

Cons:
The latter part of his career is underrepresented.

It s a testament to James Taylor s soothing voice and quality songwriting that he has maintained such a high level of popularity for almost four decades now. Since strolling onto the scene with an acoustic guitar via The Beatles Apple label in 1969, JT has defined the male singer-songwriter, and in addition to his own success, has served as the musical father to acts ranging from Duncan Sheik to John Mayer, not to mention his own two record-making kids, Ben and Sally. It s hard to explain what Taylor s voice means to me in words. The identification I always seem to come up with when I hear...
