Thin, but pleasant, story
Bell, Book and Candle (1958) I always had a bit of difficulty believing Jimmy Stewart in those trendy 1950s movies where they tried to depict the folksy actor as a successful young (middle-aged?) executive, single, of course, with a bombshell of a girlfriend about 25 years his junior, you know, one like Grace Kelly, or Kim Novak in Bell, Book and Candle. What the 25 year-old Novak saw in that 50 year-old Stewart always seemed a little unreal. Actually, I think they were trying to pass him off as younger than his actual age, but now that I m over fifty myself, I see it clearly as miscasting....
