After seeing the first series, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this 2nd set. It really brings out the futuristic reality of human/machine/cyborg interaction, even though it's via a violent conflict. The adventures of the Battlestar crew are projected in a very real personal manner, which twists the emotions. The package holds 10 episodes that equal a "season", which takes the viewer through the crisis of Adama recovery right through to the discovery of the Tomb of Athena. I won't give away secrets, because you have to see what happens to Starbuck on Caprica, along with the other side stories. My recommendation, to interested collectors/ viewers, is to really consider bidding on the series, starting with the Mini Series package, then the Series #1 collection then # 2. I can’t wait to see the continuation of this space adventure/ drama as it ends with a very interesting “to be continued” story. Included in Series #2 are the deleted scenes and Podcasts of each episode, which makes this package well worth the bid. Enjoy!
As has been pointed out several times, "Season 2.0" is only HALF of Season 2. Sci-Fi programmed a 3-month hiatus into the schedule so the final 10 episodes that aired beginning in 1/6/06. If you just have to have this as an Xmas gift, by all means do so; you'll enjoy the midseason cliffhanger as much as the rest of us. It'll probably be cheaper to buy the for a complete Season 2.5 volume, however and there may be added bonus features.
"Season 2.0" is a bit of misnomer even discounting it's only the first 10 episodes of Season 2. Sci-Fi didn't pay for a full Season 1 so some of the plot threads from that aren't tied up until Season 2 Episode 5. In effect what you have are the final 5 episodes of Season 1 plus just *5* episodes of Season 2. However it all works out in some bizarre non-Euclidean fashion. The episodes pretty much stand on their own merit and you don't need a reference card to keep track of what's going on. Season 2 is darker, richer, and more plot-driven than Season 1 and the Cylons still have some tricks up their sleeves to show us. The mid-season cliffhanger is logical, satisfying, and the end and leaves you breathless waiting for the resolution.
The Colonials now know where Earth is but it's a *long* way off and the Cylons are hot on their heels. Boomer's child is a key plot element and will have a significant impact on the storyline at some point. There are big things in store for the crew of Galactica.
I saw 1 show from season 4 of battlestar galactica and was hooked. I then bought every dvd they have ever made. This is an awsome show and I hope everyoe gets a chance to see it.
This is a wonderful series. It is action packed and full of great special effects. But more importantly, it has great, complex characters who struggle with their own wants and needs versus what is the right thing to do. The acting is wonderful.
love the sexual tension between #6 and Baltar. Plus they programed Grace parks copy too human for their own good. I've been told 2.5 will clear things up better. can't wait
This revision and update to the classic TV series Battlestar Galactica is a refreshing, dramatic, and powerful tale with a great cast and story that will keep you coming back for more and more!!! - For all the crap that Sci-Fi channel puts out they nailed a 5-Star winner with this one - This is a must see for anyone that loves sci-fi and great story-telling! Highly recommeneded!!!!!
Great series if you have wached series 1. Great sci-fi. You get an feeling that the series also never end, but its also lots of happenings that you alsolokking forward to see when you look through the seson. Great product and for me this was a good continuing from last series!
Recomended!!!
If this seller hass moore of them do bye from him. Excellent seller and a great communication!
Well I'm one of the few people without cable TV, so the only way I will see the series is thru the DVD. I've enjoyed season 1 so much I had to get season 2. My enjoyment continues. A good mix of special effects and people acting.
This show is definitely a rival to Star Trek. Those shows are so full of fantasy while this show makes everything feel gritty and real. Often times I yell at the tv when I watch this show because I get so engrossed.
The only danger of having this on dvd, is that you can't stop watching. It'll be 4am and you'll hear yourself say, "I'm going to watch just one more episode!"
Battlestar Galactica Season 2.0 is a 10 episode television series that aired on Sci-Fi. Season 2.0 contains all 10 episodes from the second season along with deleted scenes and podcasts for each episode.
The first episode list is as follows: Scattered Valley of Darkness Fragged Resistance The Farm Home (Part 1) Home (Part 2) Final Cut Flight of the Phoenix & Finally Pegasus
This season starts where season 1 left off, Adama is in light threatening condition and ExO Tigh trying to not frack things up to much, which he ends up doing.
The rest of the 9 episodes are dealing with the fallout from Col. Tigh's brief stay in power. You find out what happens to Starbuck and we get to explore more of Kobol. The final episode brings a ray of hope as a long lost Battlestar, the Pegasus, arrives. However, all is not what it seems.
A great story is being told of humanity trying to survive after a cataclysmic event. Awesome.
The new Battlestar Galactica is a phenomenal myth come to life. I bought this to catch up with parts of the series I missed and to have it to watch again and again.
We pick up immediatly after the shooting of Commander Adama. We are exposed to the supreme manipulations of Ellen Tigh and her efforts to keep the good Colornel on the wrong path, and we get to see the Arrow of Apollo taken to the tomb of Athena. A good storyline, and further character development make this boxed set a great addition to anyone's collection.

Anybody who is a fan of Sci-Fi should definitely look into Battlestar galactica. Unlike other science fiction shows, Battlestar Galactica does not come with the cheese factor. So many of the shows I watch I can't get into because they simply are too corny. Not so here! BG is an incredible SFS and I high recommend it. Warning to parents: There is some sex scenes and some language so it is definitely not suitable for young viewers. ENJOY! Season 2 has a couple of episodes that lag a little but overall it still is top notch.
A friend gave me season one as a gift and after watching it I needed to get season II. This is an excellent show, and a much better way to watch a series. I am waiting for season 3 now.
Battlestar Galactica has a difficult time when it comes to marketing because it shares an awkward name recognized mainly by sci-fi nerds, and is generally a turn-off to the general, non-sci-fi audience. However, it is truly a show that appeals accross the spectrum of viewers due to its nature as an intense, character driven drama.
Far from being a Star Trek like show laced with incomprehensible technobabble, Battlestar tries its best to be convincing and realistic. It epitomizes the purpose of the sci-fi genre, which is to look at ourselves, our world, and the human condition through the lense of a different time or a different universe.
If you like 24, Lost, or any of the newer, runaway hit drama shows, you will love Battlestar. Give it a chance.
Best drama I've watched in a loooong time! Love it!!!! The plot is dynamic and the characters are well-developed. Not to far into the realm of Sci-Fi to be realistic for those who aren't avid Sci-Fi fans. Highly recommended!!!!
Great Action, Awesome, edge of the seat Drama! Presents interesting twists and point of views based on the Christianity God and astrological gods as we know them.
Can't wait for every new episode! Fridays on Sci-Fi ROCK!
Best Show on TV. Not predictable. Great imagination, keeps me waiting till next week/season every time. Can't wait till Season 3 comes out on DVD. Is it September yet? Hurry up Season 4
