Batman Rocks. What more can I say? The score in this selection is amazing, Elfman and Price both do an excellent job putting the sights and sounds of the motion picture into a musical master piece.
I really loved the cd. It was in excellent condition as well as the case of the cd. I wanted the cd because I love the movie and wanted to listen to the music while in the car. But my money was received on Aug 7 and didn't receive item until Aug 22.
Tremendous Prince Fan. I could not find the Batman CD in any stores. This CD was in GREAT condition. Would like to buy another one to keep unopened. Thank you so much.
This is a great Classic item that was a limited edition at the time. Prince at his best, a fabulous album. Comes in a collectors tin. A must for any prince fan.
I decided tto buy this product because I knew from when I was younger I loved this album. It is one of Princes best. It has a lot of good old 80's sounds to it.
The music here tells a story that is an excellent compliment to the dark nature of the movie. Prince added his own element of sensuality to the Dark Knights troubled life, and blended it with classic metal riffs and twisted in alluring dance beats. Only the haters could miss the genius of this Prince classic!!!!

BATMAN, by Prince

Pros: Added to the already huge Batman phenomenon of 1989.
Cons: No Batman Returns soundtrack.
You could watch the movie from which this soundtrack came every day for a month, and you still wouldn't recognize half the songs on this thing. "Partyman" of course, and "Trust" because they're given prominent spots, played loudly, and almost in full. But what about "The Future", "Electric Chair", "The Arms of Orion"? Where are "Vicki Waiting", and "Lemon Crush"? "Scandalous" you'd recognize if you stuck around for the end credits. And everyone knows "Batdance", right? Right? So how come from a 9-song soundtrack to a very popular movie, you'd only recognize a couple as being from the movie?...

Do the Batdance!

Pros: Classic Prince - original, creative, brilliant and overall damn funky.
Cons: The Arms of Orion. Lemon Crush isn't great either.
Only Prince could've made this album. He was an unlikely but perfect choice to do the soundtrack for the 1989 blockbuster Batman (the one with Michael Keaton). Prince, being the oddball genius that he is, did a strange, brilliantly different take on the film on this CD. If you skim the liner notes, Prince only credits himself on vocals for two lines in the album: "Hey Ducky, let me stick the 7-inch in the computer" and "Stop!" at the end. Even though he sings the rest of the album, Prince credits vocals on all the other songs to a Batman character ("Lead Vocal by the Joker"). Each track is...

Pros: An all out Prince effort of excellence!
A definite Prince fan must-have
Cons: Only 9 songs long!
In 1989, the Batman movie flooded the entertainment scene on all 4 cylinders. Big stars, big numbers, big promotion, and big success. Surprisingly, the dark and foreboding movie soundtrack was performed completely by Prince and the effort almost slipped into the music scene without being noticed. Even to this day, Prince fans remember a few of the songs but not the fact that they appeared on this album. Nonetheless, classics like the sexy and slow Scandalous (which was co-composed with Prince s late father John Nelson) along with the unforgettable Batdance and its peculiar video which ran...

M2 - The Stars Align For Prince
Review created: 07/10/00
by: McCracken -- a member of Epinions
Pros: A Great Classic Prince Production
Cons: The Seeds of The Artist Take Root
I like to think of Prince as 3 different people - the early, little-known Prince (up through "1999"), the big star Prince ("Purple Rain" through "Lovesexy" (or thereabouts)), and the older, more consumer-friendly, symbol-named Prince ("Diamonds

Soul of the Movie
Review created: 10/02/00
by: dantonmar -- a member of Epinions
Pros: Soul of the Movie
Cons: No Sequel
Not to be confused with Danny Elfman's instrumental release for the same movie, this soundtrack for the first Batman is one of the best movie soundtracks ever released. Prince created a soundtrack that moves with the movie. It is not just a compilation of songs that you hear in the background of a movie, like many soundtracks that are hastily put together and released. This CD is full of dialogue, from the movie and from Prince's imagination. Prince put a lot of heart, soul and funk into this recording. Songs: THE FUTURE is the opening song that sets the stage for the dark future that The...
