I have always been impressed with this singers voice. I wanted to expand my collection of her music. It,the music, lifts my spirits. This is a easy way to search and purchase music thats been around awhile.
IF YOU ARE A BARBRA STREISAND AND BROADWAY FAN THIS CD IS DEFINATLY FOR YOU. IF YOU ARE, THEN LIKE I WAS, YOU WILL BE VERY SATISFIED WITH THIS COLLECTION OF BROADWAY HITS. BARBRA SINGS SONGS FROM WEST SIDE STORY, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA AND MANY MORE. SOME ARE DUETS WITH CHARACTERS FROM THE ORIGINAL CASTS. THIS IS ACTUALLY MY SECOND COPY OF THIS CD. I SCRATCHED THE OTHER FROM OVER USE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND: Back To Broadway - Barbra Streisand (CD 1993)
This is a great CD. Barbra is at her best. Back to Broadway is the CD to get. I love to hear her music and I think that most people enjoy hearing her sing.
One of the few female vocalists I have admired very much. Until recently I had not collected CD's nor DVD's but with eBay I can now build a small library that I can just sit back and relax with the memories of the past.

Pros: nice selections and good duets for the most part
Cons: ........
Broadway and show tunes are a staple in Streisands diet and it is never more clear than this selection of 12 songs from various Broadway shows. Several of them are favorites of mine and the ones from Sunset Boulevard prompted me to finally watch that wonderful film. Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific At one stage in every persons life, even if they don't admit it, they have wondered ... 'will I ever meet someone?' This classic song gives you that hope. A wonderful selection and great start. Fantastic vocal range and full orchestra compliment this recording. ..."Some enchanted evening...

Pros: the voice
Cons: not as good as first, but excellent
Her first Broadway album was incredible. This one is very good - doesn't reach as many high notes in the selection of the first, but it is a great sequel. I also hope she does another album of this genre. In this album she does more "modern" music from shows such as Sunset Boulevard, Phantom of the Opera, and Sunday in the Park with George. These are all shows that are not the greatest from Broadway but she manages to put her strong individual style on each song. This is Barbra at her best - a singer/performer of theatrical music. There are duets in this show, from West Side Story and Phantom.
