The music soothes and the images stimulate the brain. Babies and tottlers love it. They learn while being entertained by classic music and art. I enjoy this one because it is developmental and simple but not too commercialized like later ones in the Baby Einstein series. It was a small company for a while before Disney bought them. A super show to buy and makes a great gift, too!
I bought these books because I read them with my first child and he learned his colors, number, shapes, and other valuable lessons. His little fingers could flip through them easily and the pictures were great. My daughter is already enjoying them. I will keep them as a momentum.
The name "Baby Einstein" can lull you into thinking it's okay or even good for babies to watch t.v., but the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no television AT ALL to children under 2 because so many studies have proven its harmful effects on children. Studies have shown that:
- for every hour of television a baby watches a day, their chances of acquiring an attention deficit disorder increases by 10%. - among babies ages 8 months to 16 months, every hour spent daily watching programs such as 'Brainy Baby' or 'Baby Einstein' translated into six to eight fewer words in their vocabularies as compared with other children their age." - brain wave activity in babies is slower when watching television than when sleeping.
"Signing Time" (Two Little Hands Productions) DVDs is an option for occasional video viewing because communicating in sign language with your child is proven to:
- reduce frustration and tantrums - accelerate language development - promote parent-child bonding
Last thing for new moms - carrying newborn babies (in arms or next to body) an extra 3 hours a day resulted in 40% less crying. So carrying baby in a carrier or sling can help calm fussy babies!
Educational....................................................................................................................................................................................................but don't feel the need to write anymore.
I bought this because my son broke the other one that we had. It is a great DVD for little ones. It introduces them to the world of colors. The DVD is educational, as well as, entertaining with an array of colors and fellow little people.
My daughter is 1.5 years old. She watched the dvd with my 2 year old niece The dvd is entertaining and educational at the same time. The money is worth it.
I love it. It is a wonderul opportunity for children to be exposed to classical music. I work with young children on a daily basis, and this is an awesome selection. It not only soothes the child but it is very educational. Music is exceptionally reccomended for children of ALL ages.
I create gift basket and felt that this would be a nice addition to my baby basket collection. This dvd was in decent shape but the cover was a little crinkled. I believe that Baby Einstein is a good learing tool for children ao that is why I bought it
Vivid colors, entertaining puppets, wonderful music to enhance learning. This DVD as well as all Baby Einstein DVD's are top of the line when it comes to keeping a child's attention as they incorporate music and education. It holds a child's interest even as a baby and then as the child gets older they are able to grasp the concept being taught. How many 2 and 3 year olds can identify a painting and it's artist.
This is an excellent DVD for kids. My one-year-old LOVES the Baby Einstein series so it is a MUST HAVE in my house. Sad as it sounds these DVD's are great for parents too, especially if you're trying to get some light housework done (they're only 30 minutes long!), but my daughter will stay so focused on the colors and the animals and the music is so calming so she stays in one place. All-in all I love this DVD and all the other Baby Einstein DVD's that we own...
We love the gaot puppet , and he , along with that cute little devil puppet that is never for sale, is the main character. I love how they start off with a blank canvas and with one swipe of a paint brush with only blue pain on it, the goat makes "Starry Night" lol. Very cute, innocent and sweet.
This is our 3rd copy of this DVD. My son LOVES it and plays it over and over. We have one in the car, living room and in his bedroom. I would tell EVERYONE with a small child to get it.
The DVD was in excellent condition and I recieved it very fast! I have bought several more DVD's from this seller because of how fast I recieve them and they gauruntee them. I highly recommend going with this seller.
DVDs are easy to store and use. I purchased this DVD as a Christmas gift for a baby granddaughter. My daughter and son-in-law have been attempting to assembly for their family all the Baby Einstein DVDs.
I have bought several (actually 8) of the Baby Einstein videos. The music is soothing. The images are so appealing. So many visuals are overly busy, complex, and are geared for the adults who buy them for their children. These seem to be done by those who know what really appeals to children. How can they be both stimulating and soothing? They keep it simple. They keep it moving. They keep it beautiful. Of course, I spend a lot of time on e-bay looking for the toys in the toy chest.
We bought the Baby Einstein DVD Baby Van Gough about a month ago. My daughter absolutely loves it. She is 18 mos. old and keeps asking for it all the time. She has learned her colors in such a short time that we are very very happy with this purchase.
