Wonderful, uplifting. Captures the beauty of the music all around us. A feel good movie! Freddie Highmore is perfect for this role as an orphan determined to find his parents.

This is a beautiful love story. A gifted 12 year old boy who was put up for adoption by the unwed mother's father unbeknownst to the mother. On the mother's father's death bed, Lyla (the mother) is told by her father that instead of her son dying at birth, he was given up for adoption. Meanwhile her son, Evan always feels that his parents are alive and they are looking for him.
This is a fantasy with everything ending. Happily ever after.
Worth watching and worth buying for a collection.
By the way, this was purchased as a used DVD and as mentioned by the seller the DVD was 100% playable, which proved correct. I am happy with this purchase.

When you want something a little different from the the endless explosions, blood and guts give this movie a try. Good music combined with a strong cast provide very good family entertainment. Take a step away from the usual and see and hear the enjoyment of a good wholesome movie - you won't be disappointed.

I bought this movie over a month ago or so and still have not received the DVD. I have contacted the seller and it says the seller is no longer a registered user. I am irritated.

This dvd arrived in very good condition. The shipment arrived quite promptly without any difficulty and played very well.

IT MADE YOU THINK IT MADE YOU WANT TO WATCH IT. BUT THEN IT JUST ENDED.

THE BODY OF THE MOVIE HAD MOMENTUM, IT WAS INVENTIVE. THE ENDING DID NOT MATCH THE REST OF THE MOVIE

Amazing movie. Wonderful music and a great all around story. Definitely a movie for the whole family to watch together. Robin Williams is great in his sketchy, scandelous father-figure. Not to mention there are several very cute men with very sexy accents throughout the show. You can never go wrong with that!

My family loved this movie. It started off slow, but was well worth the wait. After awhile you are drawn into the movie and when its over you have goosebumps.
This is a really good family movie.

I bought the product because it was a 'buy it now' offer and I thought that I could get it cheaper this way then if I had bid on it.
It was shipped to me within the time frame that the seller specified.

Buying used dvds is a better alternative than new - and they can be sold over and over. Best way to recycle is to share!

i love this movie from start to finish, i decided to buy it cuz it looked interesting. beautiful story line would recomend it to any one and all ages.

A friend had told me about this movie, how much she liked it, so I decided to purchase it. I was impressed also, it was good, clean, and had an expected ending, although it cut off a little to soon for me, I would have liked to seen some dialog between the family at the end. All in all, I was glad I watched it.

A truly feel good movie that isn't "schmaltzy"...... It's well acted, well directed, and draws you in to a plot that has unexpected twists. In a time when most movies rely on action or violence to hold your attention, this movie truly has a "heart". It's simply the best movie I've watched in a very long time.

This is one of the best movies i have ever watched.Because of the people that played in it also sung or played the music.It could of been longer.

Gave a postive protrayal of the Pastor but also of most of the community who wanted to be of help. Wonderful acting performaces. One of those movies that can be seen more than once and still be very much enjoyed. Great music in the film!

This movie was great!! If you have any kind of musical background at all, you will love this movie. Very clean, great for the whole family!

My daughter has just started to play the cello and she really enjoyed seeing Lyla play. The music was wonderful and the piece the little boy wrote was awesome. It sent chills down my spine! My daughter wished that there had been more details of their reunion at the end, but at least they finally all found each other. I especially loved the way August played the guitar - it was very innovative. We've watched it about 6 times since we bought it! And last but not least, Jonathan is certainly not hard to look at!!!

I have seen the movie before. It is a mixture of all my passions.
Of young children wanting to be loved and belong.
Of music of good old fashioned love and loyalty and trust.!!
I guarantee you will love it!!

Such a beautiful movie. I rented it first and then had to own it. The story is simple and just tell of a young boy looking for his parents...it is the music and the concept of universal energy that makes it so special. Any age would enjoy it...but, you need to suspend a bit of reality and really let go for it to take you away. Vikki

August Rush is a movie that draws you into the world of a young boy who is given up at birth, due to circumstances that you will learn through viewing the movie. He lives in the system for awhile until one day he leaves and embarks on a journey to find his parents. And, along the way, he discovers that the music he hears inside himself and within the world around him is a true gift! He knows that his parents are out there in the world somewhere and by creating/composing/playing music he will, one day find them. He can feel it in his heart. August finds a friend who takes him to stay in an abandoned theatre. The man (Robin Williams) who keeps watch over and 'takes care of' the children who live there, by having them play music and earn money. There are a few frightening scenes (not suitable for younger children, unless an adult is watching with them to explain what is going on, and why August is being treated that way). You will want to see this to understand the entire storyline. Toward the end of the movie, August directs a symphony [that he composed at Juliard School of Music] in the park, and his parents come forward to see him. August knows that these must be his parents, but the audience is left to figure this out for themselves. It ends with August smiling, and these two people holding hands and smiling back at him. A must see for anyone who enjoys music and a happy ending.

DVD was good quality. The show has become one of our favorites. Robin Williams is fantastic, the story line is awesome. We enjoyed this movie so much, that we could finish watching it and start it all over again as soon as it was over. Excellent movie for the whole family. I am not sure if there were any bad words, but if there were, there were not alot.

It sent such a wonderful message about children and their parents. The connection between these two is more than DNA.


What a wonderful story.

This is simply excellent for family viewing. Keeps you hoping and sitting on the edge of your seat! Also I appreciate Robin Williams excellence in his craft and scope of acting. Just all around exceptional. It would be interesting to see how it all turned out after another 10 yrs.

Great movie, but builds you up to a climax, then drops you at the end. There should have been some kind of closure with the boy actually meeting the parents. It leaves you hanging with the father/mother getting to hold hands, but the father still doesn't know it's his kid- just the kid he met in the park. It's like it leaves the ending up to your imagination. I prefer a strong ending and happily ever after stuff.
