Not that the Floyd or their producer/engineers were lax, but this was a flawed recording from the outset. Too many tracks, to much noise and too few reasons to make it like DSOTM - I mean PF were still avant garde space musig - and this is one of the definers of the pack. But MFSL (RIP) did their magic and got every domain onto this master - (In the days before bits - look up magnetic domains...) - and spaced (pun intedned) properly and without hocus pocus dogotal tricks, they got the hiss to the noise floor. A little treble cut did wonders, and one click on the treble control does more than Ray Dolby could have ever imagined - or was the EQ on the LP, CD, remastered CD ant my 20something ears just that more bright. It's been 20 years I have waited for this - and I have it now.
Oh and BTW, Alan, eat your breakfast already, you'll need to save space for the meat and pudding in a decade or so...
