I bought this DVD because of the hype a friend of mine made about it. I had never seen a full episode before I picked this one up. It's totally hilarious! I'm the type of person who apprieciates everything from subtle to silly to raunchy type jokes, and this DVD has them all! This is the type of show that you can enjoy even more with your buds!
Loved the shows I had seen on ADULT SWIM, so wanted to see more. Its nice to be able to show friends and family the 5 or 6 episodes that I think are the funniest!
Aqua Teen Hunger Force...what do you say about it? A talking shake, box of fries, and a ball of meat plus a sleezy low life next door neighbor. Sounds riveting huh? Well, I personally think it is. It's so simple, it's such an easy formula and it's oh so funny. These three different pieces of a possible fast food meal are supposed to be Jersey's crime stopping squad and end up taking you through random quests that sometimes don't even make sense; but their awkward and subtle humor will have you laughing throughout. I admit the first episode I saw I sat there and thought to myself, "Why did I waste my time watching that?" but every episode afterward hooked me. This humor may not be for everyone though, that's why I gave it Good and not Excellent. It is somewhat exclusive because honestly some might not get the humor and just find it plain boring. Still, the stupidity (and in some cases SMART humor) should get a good majority of people out there. Give this first season a try if you will. You might enjoy the quirky adventures of a shake, some fries, and a talking wad of meat.
Don't let the short episodes get you down. These shows are 15 minutes and they cram alot of classic jokes into each one. It is worth the 15$ you gotta spend to get it.
This show is absolutely a must see for all who love comedy! I watched one episode and I was hooked!! I can't get enough! Every episode in this volume is hilarious and leaves you wanting more!
Obviously this set will keep you entertained for the whole time you watch each episode. These are outrageously funny and even though its hard to say why they are funny sometimes, they just feel good to watch. However, each episode is no more than 15 minutes long ... so in about an hour after watching all the episodes (there are only about 8 on the disc) you are left wanting more and wondering why you spent so much money on a disc set that is shorter than most movies. The episodes are very funny ... the extras are terrible and unwatchable. Extra material shouldn't even have been included but they needed to stretch the 'run time' on the back of the box because it would be hard for them to say the total run time of all episodes was 59 minutes and charge so much. Still, these are a good deal on EBay although most sellers screw you on high shipping costs so all in all you'd be better getting these at a large mall store that has used cds and dvds.
There is nothing better than season 1 of the Aqua Teens. If you want to own one dvd from Adult Swim, this is it, hands down. If you can't laugh at Carl, Meatwad, Master Shake, or the Mooninites, there is someting wrong with you.
The ATHF Volume 1 set contains the beginnings of what would be a mostly-unknown hit. With the exception of the pilot episode Rabbot, these 12 minute episodes set new grounds for cartoon comedy.

Gentlemen Behold!

Pros: Lots of humor
Cons: Not for everyone
A friend introduced me to Aqua Teen Hunger Force, sometimes referred to as ATHF. It s a very bizarre show which airs on the Cartoon Network s Adult Swim. (This alone should tell you that while ATHF is animated, it s not for kids.) For those that have never seen it, the three main characters are Frylock, Master Shake and Meatwad. They live in a house together in southern New Jersey. Together, the three of them fight various menaces and nuisances, such as a large robotic rabbit and several aliens. Meatwad is, as the name would suggest, a wad of meat. All he can do is change shape. His two...

A walking, talking Extra Value Meal in the animated flesh.

Pros: Plenty of cheeky characters, warped humor, anarchistic structure and cheap animation.
Cons: 11 minute episodes often feel inferior, and Warner Bros. could've added some more.
Cartoon Network has prided itself on family-friendly cartoon entertainment for some time. I think it was when they first came out that Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, and every MGM/Hanna-Barbera franchise alive got daily rotation. Along came the original shows: Stupid Dogs, Dexter s Laboratory, Ed, Edd

When Food Goes Wild, Hilarity Ensues

Pros: Funny, Sometimes Clever, Conceptually Interesting
Cons: Meatwad's unintelligible voice
What do you get when you put together a milkshake, an order of fries and a blob of meat? One might think a meal. But to Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis, that makes a crime fighting force for the slacker generation. "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" is the story of three sentient food products and their annoyed neighbor working (occasionally) to combat the evil by-products of the scientist Dr. Weird. The Aqua Teen Hunger Force Volume 1 DVD set includes sixteen episodes from this odd Cartoon Network series and offers a chance to laugh at something totally absurd. Each episode begins with the laboratory.

Pros: Very amusing in both an obvious and subtle manner, and very strange.
Cons: Episodes are short, and the show is very strange.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force (hereafter referred to as ATHF) is one of those shows that grows on you over time. It is borderline along the blatantly humorous while also throwing in tons of subtle nuances that seem to reflect the tastes and experiences of the creators of this series. The show is an animated comedy that centers around the everyday lives of three sentient fastfood items living somewhere in New Jersey, and their decadent neighbor, Carl. And Leprechauns. But I'm getting ahead of myself. The show began airing on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" several years ago, and recently each season...

AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE - The most bizarre cartoon ever !

Pros: Bizarre and funny. Original humor and characters. Inexpensive DVD.
Cons: Short episodes. Hardly any extras.
I discovered ATHF while watching the late night cartoons on Cartoon Networks ADULT SWIM. One night it aired after the BRAK SHOW. The shows intro opens with the cartoons characters which are a Cup with a straw in it, a meatball and a box of french fries with lazer eyes performing heroics. This intro is accompanied by SCHOOLY D rapping the theme song. Right then and there....I knew I was watching the strangest thing I had ever seen. The cup's name is SHAKE, he is a big paper cup you would get at a fast food restaurant with eyes and a mouth. SHAKE is a big child, who throws temper tantrums and...
