Apple iPod shuffle (1 GB, M9725LL/A) MP3 Player

When the iPod Shuffle arrived, it was Apple’s response to the wave of flash MP3 players taking a share of the market – the iPod of course was a bigger success than anyone could have imagined, but it was still too large and bulky for the active user (someone wanting to take it on a jog, use it while spinning, etc). The Shuffle was supposed to be Apple’s claim on this segment of the market – light, portable and durable MP3 players that value portability over functionality.

The trouble however is that the Shuffle compromises too much on functionality – personally, I don’t get very excited about an MP3 player:

1) without an LCD screen
2) without playlist capability
3) that requires the use of a rope around your neck
4) an armband (essential) for athletic use costs an extra ~$30

This doesn’t bother many people – and if it doesn’t bother you, than the Shuffle is a great choice. Personally, I think the design of the Shuffle is super cool and typical Apple. However, in terms of portable flash players, my prefence is the Rio Forge series and there are lines of plenty of other alternatives. All cost less and, in my opinion, are better values.

While my clear preference for these kind of MP3 players is not the Shuffle – I can’t help but leave positive reviews for its sleek, different and sexy design – which certainly is enough of a selling point for many consumers.

My advice – think about what features and functions you want in an MP3 player before buying. That said, if you're going to buy a shuffle... the 1GB are the best options. for 2GB or 4GB - consider a real iPod or a Nano.

This is really an unfair review for this particular item. I've heard a lot of rave reviews about the Ipod and after my children begging for one each, I gave in to find one on Ebay. This particular shuffle was poorly represented. It was listed as both 1G & 2g but it turned out to be 512 MB instead. I could not sync it to the Apple library I set up because it had already been sync-ed to the previous owner's library. It also was lacking the head phones which were listed to be included. I have bid and won another more updated NIB Ipod from Ebay, so hopefully we'll have a better experience.

the item wasnt even what it was told to it is, this is a regular mp3 player, not an iPod... I wish Ebay could do something about it...

The Classic Shuffle does what the Newer Shuffles do but cheaper! I love my "lengthy" iPod! It holds just enough songs (who needs 6000 songs on their pod, seriously!), 200-220.

Portable, good price, great for wearing when doing sporting activities, dislike the fact that battery cannot be replaced

I bought Apple iPod shuffle three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive Apple iPod shuffle. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget.

As there is no Catagory for Carputers I used the Ipod Catgory.

A Carputer is a Computer for your Car. I purchased this Carputer from an eBay seller 2 months ago. I waited 2 months to review because I wanted to work out or find any bugs I could and figured 2 months was ample time to do so. Keep in mind that I'm sure other bugs may arise as well as other good applications so check back every so often to see any updates.
This particular Carputer consists of a in-dash Double Din Car Radio with a 6 inch touch screen, the Computer came with Windows XP, Delorme Navigation, Explorer, was installed under my back seat. As of now I am listing the positives and negatives found so far. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and I will do my best to answer them as soon as possible.

POSITIVES:

Can access the internet using 802.11 WIFI
Can access the internet using Verizon's High Speed wireless
Plays DVD's, CD's
You can do, download and play anything a regular Computer can do
Came with built in keyboard accessed by the touch screen

NEGITIVES:

Anything played through the computer has a annoying sound along with it although I am pretty confident that I will be able to cure that with a noise filter.
I needed to purchase longer cables to go between the back seat where the Computer is and the Dashboard where the Double Din Touchscreen Carputer Radio is, so double check your wire lengths before ordering.
The USB's that can with the Carputer can't handle what seems to be a total of 15 ft lengths so I needed to purchase a powered USB HUB booster to handle all of the USB's correctly.
As of now I can't use Delorme Street maps. This came with the Carputer and I am unable to find a way to make the maps large enough to view. I will keep trying to figure out a way to view them and will update this review if and when I find a way to view normally.

It was necessary for me to buy an ipod rather than a less expensive mp3 player because of computer compatability... I wanted the first shuffle, for price and for size.... (the newer ones are so small)...the prices and competition on ebay were high as I hoped to buy a new one... but as I checked one day I saw a used one with 47 seconds left.... intuitive jump I bid and won it.... knew I was taking a chance...

Compact, easy to use. Do not like the fact I cannot put any music not purchased through itunes. Not a good feature.

Glad I bought this. I use it every day. I recieved it right on time as scheduled. Took a little time to get all my songs set up and ready to load, but once I did there was no problem getting it started up.

I like that it is small and very portable, I dislike that it dose not have a screen to show you what songs are avaliable. I decided to buy this ipod for the gym and it has been a great workout buddy. I would recomend this product to anyone that just needs a small and basic ipod.

This apple ipod is very nice. It is small and compact. The buttons are just big enough that I dont have to use my fingernails to push them. I use this apple ipod to work out, run, and while I am working at my desk. I just put it on shuffle and it sorts through the 14 hours of songs I have already put on it. It it can handle much more! Sometimes I like to download podcasts and listen to uplifting programs if I am having a bad day. Other times I just like to act like I am listening to something, therefore no one else will bother me! (ha!) Anyway, I love this little apple Ipod Shuffle. It is a nice piece at a reasonable price. The seller was absolutely unbelievable. I'm very dissapointed with this particular item...It's as if it has a short in it. It keeps shutting off right in the middle of the songs.. I do not recommend it for anyone.

the 1 gb ipod shuffle (1st gen) is pretty good. even dough is quite old I love the USB that's designed inside the ipod.
Battery is also over 10h with sound over 75%.

First, let me say I have been extrememly happy with EBAY ever since joining. Every purchase or sale has gone beautifully, until this one. The seller accepted my credit card payment (he wouldn't accept Paypal) and the next day he dropped out of EBay. This has prevented me from contact with him or any other recourse to recover my money or get my merchandise. I'm stuck.
