my ipod

I am not convinced that the ipod is the greates invention since the wheel, as many people are inclined to think. It is true that it is nce being able to download all of your, your sister's, your parent's, and your next door neighbor's cd collections onto one device that can be transported anywhere in the world. However, there is one thing that is lacking from the little jukebox wonder, an fm or am receiver. Why couldn't the geniuses at apple figure this out? EVERY other mp3 player has one. Is that why apple didn't? I can't imagine why this would be the reason. If you are a mac user, the process of downloading songs with itunes is easier than breathing.
HOWEVER, if you are a pc user (as a majority of the world is), one finds that simple functions like having a disk store itself as a single disk, and acquiring the correct cover artwork for the cd, can be stressful and irritating with all of the clicking, pointing, and dragging.
Once it is downloaded, and ready to use, you still have to set up the menus, and settings. this is difficult, because there is no included manual, and the quick guide is lacking for those not gifted with the "techno geek gene". However, if you have friends with ipods, it is possible to muddle through this excercise, because they were frustrated once. Suprise suprise.
On a lighter note, the headphones are nice, and the color monitor is suprisingly clear and defined.
I would overall recommend getting an ipod if you have friends who have developed a map to negotiate the land of ipod, and can guide you at 11pm when you can't figure out why the cover art for your Creedence Clearwater Revival art is not on song 3 only. Good luck then...
