My baby was a preemie and I recall how terrified I was to place her tiny body in the car seat we bought her. She literally fell out of the straps that were supposed to hold her in place. Not even a preemie headrest provided enough support. The hospital should never have allowed us to take her home that way. So, when my daughter got pregnant last year, I purchased the Angel Guard bed in advance, so she wouldn't have that same concern for her baby. Even though her baby was full term, she was only a 6 lb. baby and was able to use the Angel Guard bed in safety for several weeks. It is absolutely the safest way to transport newborns and small babies.
An absolute necessity for a preemie, low birth weight or special needs baby. My little one was not a preemie, but only weighed in at 2 lb 12 oz. She came home at 5 weeks, 3 lbs 14 oz. She did pass the carseat test, but when I had to drive alone with her, I could not see her when she was in her standard car seat. I was much more comfortable having her lying in her carbed on the back seat, so I could view her by glancing over my shoulder. The peace of mind I gained is well worth the cost I paid for this bed. Now, if it only came in pink.....
This is extremely easy to fasten securely onto either a bucket or bench seat, the straps are padded and shaped so they don't chafe delicate neck skin, and there was no need to add rolled blankets or towels try to keep baby upright. I highly recommend this carbed for all the wee ones out there!
