Delia's Gone
American Recordings is yet another in a long line of brilliant Cash albums. Delia's Gone is one of my top 5 favorite Cash songs and the lyrics are funny and disturbing and flat out cool. Another highlight is the cover of Leonard Cohen's Bird On A Wire. If you like songs about murder and Jesus and Vietnam you need this in your collection. 5 Stars.

the cd is alright,theres a few songs that are good,the rest is just ok.i bought this cd because i have a few more of johnny cash and they are very good.

Awsome!!This album is the stuff great country is made of,I love all Johnny's music but this one is definantly one of my all-time favorites

Perfect CashI am a biased Johnny Cash fan, and "American Recordings" did not disappoint. All thirteen tracks up to the Cash standard, including "Down by the Train" and especially riveting "Like a soldier". My favourite: "Delia's Gone", and I'm not sure why, maybe the lyrics, which are pretty darn grim. This CD is a must have for Cash fans everywhere.

Johnny never sounded better.Johnny Cash. What more can one say? In one of his last albums he sounds as though age were something to look forward to. The songs themselves are a mix of bible, blues and country. Each is recorded in a clean and uncrowded fashion so as not to let the background interfere with the main event. For Johnny Cash fans I say that you will be pleased by this recording and if you have never heard Mr. Cash, these songs will open your ears to something you've been missing.
