I recently watched this movie again and own the soundtrack on vinyl but no longer own a turntable. I could not get the great music out of my head. I found the soundtrack on cd and have enjoyed listening to it again and again. The product was exactly what I was looking for and what was advertised.
This album is a must-have! I've had a copy in some form for over twenty years and it never gets old. If you like the movie, the soundtrack brings back a lot of great memories.
This soundtrack is probably the best collection of 50's songs ever, I was looking for it on itunes and here and there, I'm glad I found it, sometimes I gotta have my oldies fix
If you grew up in the fifties this is the best album of songs. There were only two songs I was not totally familar with. It was my teen years on a album.
I bought it as a gift for my Wife because she loves the 50's and Doo Wop.If music of this era is the type of music that you like, you can't go wrong purchasing this CD.
I bought the American Graffiti Original Soundtrack for my 10 year old son, believe it or not. After searching every thinkable record and tape store out there, come to find out, this album is no longer available and where else do you turn but to good old E-Bay to find such an item. I am very pleased with my purchase and I can not express to you the joy it has brought to my son. He listens to it constantly and the rest of the family enjoys it as well, so I would definitely say that this is one purchase that I would NEVER regret.
The sound track is great. With the exception of "At the hop", all the songs are by the original artists. The inclusion of Wolf mans voice adds to the "moment in time" feeling. I bought the CD because I had an old 8-track of the sound track and wanted to play it in my car. I expected the two CD pack to be originals; however, what was delivered was a copy and I suspect the seller may be breaking the law!
I like very much those CD's I love the movie. I recomended for all Ebay. It's great, It's great, It's great,It's great ,It's great, It's great, It's great, It's great
I was an usher in theater when this movie came out. That's when ushers actually shushed people and most theaters had only one screen. I saw the movie so many times you would think I wouldn't be able to stand the music even now. Its not true though! I bought the vinyl and then the CD. This music and I mean all of the songs, are classics. These are songs to listen to over and over no matter what generation you are from because they are rock and roll's beginnings.
As a soundtrack, the music set the tone for the feelings of the characters and the times they represented. It wasn't just background noise either. It was supposed to be coming from the radio and even on the soundtrack you hear the legendary Wolfman Jack talking. Whether you have seen the movie or not, this CD of classic music, which plays almost like listening to the radio, will have you dancing at the hop to The Stroll and dreaming of times gone by. And if your not a student of music from this era, this CD is a great introduction.
I loved the movie, and watch it from time to time as a refreshment from today's frantic pace. This soundtrack not only captures the happy upbeat music of that era but the essence of a by gone era where life was a carefree blend of primitive innocence. Also among the many great early rock and roll selections is the occasional voice of Wolfman Jack taking requests just like back in the day..so listening to the cd is not unlike experiencing AM radio then...a major feel good experience for baby boomers such as I who were lucky enough to have grown up in those times...Suddenly it's a warm (but commercial free) Summer night and my car window is rolled down just far enough to allow for the tray to hang on the side of my 57 Bel Air.. (can I have some of those fries?)
