This documentary was great! The information given by POW's and actual footage of captures and releases was outstanding. I wore the POW bracelet of John Fer (interviewed in movie)back in 1970 and was so thrilled to see him and hear his accounts of the captivity. This movie is far from dry documentation. It's full of the reality of war and the preparation and training of the great service men and women we have defending our country. It made me proud and also gave me new insight to just what these soldiers encountered. We watched it twice over the weekend we received it.

I truely enjoyed this DVD and learned alot of what went on during this dark days of Vietnam with our Hero's. I wish there were more interviews with more people who were not in the for front of the American people. As we aware not everyone who came home came home with honor. Did they just not have the pain threshold that some others had, were they just scape-goats to help cover up what we knew and when we knew it. I don't know why they say Tom Hanks when his only involved was to introduce the piece. Myabe just to sell more DVD's

This was one of the most moving documentaries I've seen. It's based on the experiences of the American P.O.W.'s held in the "Hanoi Hilton" during the Vietnam war. Apparently this documentary contains some never before seen footage taken by the North Vietnamese. The film is comprised of the actual men telling their stories and footage of their time spent in what can only be summed up as hell on earth. This is what students should be watching in school. I can't believe I never learned some of this. Some of these men spent almost 9 years in captivity - and even though they were offered earlier...
