Alone in Iz World [ECD] - IZ Kamakawiwo'ole, Israel (CD 2001)

I absolutely love Iz's rendition of Over the Rainbow and bought the CD because the song was on it. The rest of the album is wonderful. We listen to it while we are on the back deck and it brings back memories of our trip to Hawaii. The music is both powerful and soothing at the same time. Although he sings most of the songs in native Hawaiian, Iz's beautiful voice and his music transcends the language barrier. If you appreciate good music, you will not be disappointed.

this cd is a must have. if you like hawaiin music, get it. if you are spiritual, get it. this man was able to create music from both plains. it is a beatiful and peaceful piece.

I FIRST HEARD THE SONG, OVER THE RAINBOW, ON THE TV SHOW ER. ONE OF THE CHARACTERS, MARK, HAD BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER AND WAS BEING PHASED OFF OF THE SHOW. THEY PLAYED THIS SONG AS HE PASSED AWAY AT HIS HOME. IT WAS A SAD ENDING FOR HIM. HE WAS SUCH A GOOD CHARACTER. I HAVE HEARD THE SONG SEVERAL OTHER TIMES SINCE AND I LIKE IT. IT REMINDS ME OF THIS SAD EPISODE. WE SURE MISS HIM... THANK YOU!!

I lived in hawaii. iz died very young and the world lost a great singer. the most mello music. you can not stay mad or up tight and listen to him, i have 2 copies of every cd and getting the 3rd set, 1 for home 1for car 1for truck. try it you will love it.

I had never heard this Artist CD before, the only thing I knew was it has the only version of "Over the Rainbow" I have ever liked in my life on it. I set fourth to find out about the Singer and the CD it was on. When I found out it was Israel IZ Kamakawiwo'ole , then I started looking for the CD with "Over the Rainbow" on it and that is when I came to "Alone in IZ World". This is the most beautiful CD I have heard in many, many years. IZ's voice is so pure and smooth, it can give you goose bumps on one song and then make you feel like floating on the next song . His Voice Touches Your Heart and Soul. His version of "In This Life" brings tears to my eyes. I think everyone should have this CD in their collection!

I love the music of Israel or "Iz". His music is beautiful and calming. I own 2 IZ CD's and love listening to his music at home. Also great for rush hour traffic! It's amazing what a velvet and truly awesome voice Iz had. You learn about the hawaiian culture through his music. I only wish we're still aroud to make his incredible music. This is a must have!!!!

I heard the song "Over the Rainbow" on ER when Dr. Greene died and I wanted to find a copy of that song. I found it on this CD and I really love it. I also love his version of other songs. I listen to the CD all the time.Now there using this version of Over the Rainbow with the Kelloggs Rice Krispies commercial.

I purchased this CD for my grandfather and he really likes the artist. My grandfather was really pleased. I like it because he liked it

What attacts me to this kind of music is the message sent. When you can hear and understand what is being said and understand the message within, that says it all!!

I ordered this CD for just the one song and was surprised to find the whole CD is great. It was in great shape from the shipper and looked brand new I hope to order from this seller again. I am very happy with my purchase!

We initally bought it for just one song that we'd heard in lots of different movies, this CD is constantly being played, My husband will listen to it after a stressful day at work and it calms him right down.

This is a really beautiful CD with some interesting songs, I guess they are recorded in his native language, so even though you don't exactly know what's being "said" you kind of understand it anyway.

What a beautiful voice! Most people will buy this CD for "Somewhere over the rainbow", but will fall in love with the whole disc. A wonderful blend of traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music. What a loss that this incredible voice was silenced by such a young untimely death. You truely feel that aloha spirit come over you listening to this disc.

This is not your ordinary music, it comes from his heart and his delivery of the music is sweet and melodic. His "Over the Rainbow" is my most favorite song and it seems many others feel that way, you hear a part of his song in many ads on television and the such. He definately had a differnt sound to his songs and they make you smile. Well worth having a CD of his!
