A Proper Pursuit by Lynn Austin (2007)

This book by Ms. Austin is about inspirational romance. She writes along the lines of Tracie Peterson and Lori Wick.

Violet longs for romance, but her main goal is to find her mother, who has been missing since she was nine years old and whom her father has led her to believe has died. It is the 1893 Chicago World's Fair....the perfect backdrop for the romance Violet has also longed for in her life and the missing parts of her family. In her new surroundings her perspectives on life are dramatically opened. She is exposed to not only high society but poor immigrant families,and the suffragette movement. As for romance, with the help of her grandmother and three great aunts, she is on her way to a suitable marriage, but will she find the most important missing part.....herself?

If you haven't read Lynn Austin before be sure and pick up a copy and fall in love with her wonderful way of weaving a story and making you part of it throughout the whole book.
