This is a wonderful out of print book by Maggie Lane and Sherlee Lantz. It is sought after ny needlepointers and embroiders. It not only has descriptions and diagrams of unusual stitches, but also has projects to do. It is a must for avid stitchers to have in their library. Whenever I see a copy for sale I purchase it because there is always a stitcher that wants it.
I bought the book because I liked the design on the cover. The book has some history and then a ton of pages with different stitches and it's well illustrated. I have a collection of needlework books and this one is really big. Alot of the stitches could be made into a pillow without too much trouble. I was disappointed that there weren't any charts for projects. There are two fold outs in the book in color. They had a picture of two cards and on the reverse it had small design drawings for more cards. Those designs have alot of different stitches, but I couldn't tell for sure which ones were used on the cards. I can draw and the design drawing in the book shouldn't be too hard for me to draw, if I decide to do it. If anyone thinks the postage is too high, it's because the book is really big and it weighs a bit. Theres about 500 pages to it.
