A Child Called "It" by Dave Pelzer (1995)

Horrible. I never received the book, nor did I receive any messages or emails about it after trying multiple times to contact the seller. I had to report this to ebay. Very very very bad customer service; I have never had this happen to me.

The true account of a boy's journey through abuse, the foster care system (failures as well as successes) and eventual healing. A great book for survivors of abuse and foster/former foster care kids as well as anyone who cares about and wants to understand them. Most effective because it's true. Check out Dave Pelzer's other books too.

It's a very sad and disturbing story about one of the most abused young men and how he has over come the effects of the most unthinkable events. You will cry, laugh, and completely rejoice in reading this wonderful book. David you are a true star. Thank you for telling me your story.

This is a very good book, more people should read it. Highly recommended. I started it the day it came in the mail and finished it the next morning. You have to be able to stomach the content.

I loved this book, My heart went out to him As I read it. And My children saw me reading it, asked me questions, And I proceeded to read aloud to them . And they didnt move till the book was over. They felt as fi the lil boy Needed a hug. was Super sweet of them. And I acually read the second part before the first by chance. Which is What made me buy the book. It made me laugh, cry, Scream, And Wonder WHY?. But anyways Nice to know, he made His way Inlife, and didnt let the mess of a childhood tear him down!> My thumbs up!!!

I chose to buy this book after a friend recomended it to me. If anyone has ever read the book they would agree with me that the book is truely amazing. The abuse the main character experiences from his mother is just unbelievable. The courage to survive and hope for a better future is the only thing that kept this litttle boy alive. I cant even believe that there are children that have experienced that kind of level of abuse from parents, but the book is based on true accounts. The author is amazing, and therefore I have bought the books that continue this one, and any other book he has written. Truely a very emotional book to read, I definately reccomend it.

I bought this book because I heard from various people that is was very good. I am a parent and after reading this book I can't imagine the things that Mother did to her child. This book was written well and I couldn't put it down, I wanted to keep reading until the end.

This book just fascinates me. What one child lived through, and many do every day. It is a part of the world that we pretend does not exist. It is amazing to me that this mother could do this to her child.

I bought this book for my daughter who had just read it in school. She loved it so much, she wanted to read it again right away.

this is a book you cant put down and on the other hand you are saddened by the cruelty this little boy had to go thru.

I bought the book because more than one person had mention the book to me. Its a very sad though very interesting book. It made me want to keep looking for the rest of the books, "The Lost Boy", "A Man Name Dave", "Help Yourself", and i know there's one more "The Priviledge Of Youth"...... I trully recomend "A Child Calld It" to everyone!!!!!!

It was an excellent book. My sister told me about it so... I started reading it & couldn't put it down. This says a lot because I don't usually take the time to read much of anything! This book is a "MUST READ" It's a tear jerker though. I have to say it is one of the best books I have EVER read!

I love that this is such an inspirational book and it is a true story about the authors life as a child. It saddens me to wonder how he felt when he was growing up. I bought it for my mother to read because i borrowed it from a friend and had to give it back. So i bought it for her.

This book is filled with alot of discriotion that allows the reader to imagine exactly what the author is trying to say.

Good writing of a sad story of a boy who overcame his childhood to become a productive member of society.

I liked the book because it was a very sobering and honest insight into a child's life. My heart hurt when i read the horrors that the child had to go through.
I decided to buy this book because i heard it from my friend who told me that i had to read it.

This book although hard to read, is really good. Its difficult due to the content. You can't believe a person suffered like this and lived to tell the tale. This is a great help for anyone who has ever been abused. Not to mention a deeper testament of God and if we have faith, we can overcome any hurdle.

It was an excellent book and an easy read. Mr.Pelzer pulls you right into his story and keeps you there. If was hard to put the book down. When I finished I couldn't wait to start his second and then third book. I would strongly recommend all three on his books. His story is captivating and is a testimony to one's ability to rise above the past, not use it as an excuse for failure and become a productive and successful adult. I wish they would make a movie of his life.

Ive always liked the author and I have been looking for it. But never could find it so I looked on EBAY and there it was, and at a very good price.

I think this book was the most eye opening experiance I have ever read. To know it was wriiten by the boy who went through it is evern more frieghting but to know he triumped I loved it.
