James Patterson adds another quick-paced and satisfying entry to his “Women’s Murder Club” series with “4th of July”. After being placed in the center of a high profile lawsuit against herself and the SFPD, Detective Lindsay Boxer retreats to her sister’s cottage in the peaceful community of Half Moon Bay. Once there, she becomes embroiled in an ongoing investigation involving a heinous serial killer. As it becomes apparent that these current killings may have ties to her first (and still unsolved) case from 10 years ago, Boxer enlists the aid of her friends and confidantes, medical examiner Claire Washburn and reporter Cindy Thomas to help her uncover the shocking truths that lie beneath the placid surface of Half Moon Bay.
Patterson (with co-writer Maxine Paetro) combines his trademark style of short chapters with brilliant characterization to create a tight page-turner that never loses your interest whether the focus be on the courtrooms of San Francisco or the back porches and front yards of Half Moon Bay. “4th of July” will keep you reading – and guessing - right until the very end.
Anyone who loves James Patterson books must read this one. I have already read it and purchases this book for my husband to read. As all James Patterson books it will keep you on the edge of your seat and you can''t put it down. MUST READ
I really like James Patterson books and this was no different......could not put it down...I have fallen in love with the Women's Club.....I only read at work...don't want to get finished before I have to.
I read this whole book in two days I couln't put it down. I have read the first four books now of the series and waiting for the fifth one to arrive to read that also
I bought this book because I read the first 3 in this series. As the other ones I read, this book was very good. I completed in one day. I enjoy reading James Patterson.
I bought it for my husband because he likes to read. He tells me that it is a good story. I like it, I guess, because my husband said that the book is easy reading and catches his attention. He likes action and adventure stories, and this fills the bill, according to him. I might read it, I'm not sure, yet.
I bought this book because it is the 4th book in a series of The Women's Murder Club. I am collecting them. This book has you sitting on the edge of your seat and not putting the book down until it is finished. That is a sign of a good book.
The best one of the 6 books from womens murder club, But I have two more books in the series to read yet. I have read as many of James Patterson book I can find.
This book is nothing but excellent and you never will guess the ending. The book is just a good book just like the other three in the series of the Women's Murder Club. Books 1 to Die, 2nd Chance,& 3rd Degree are very good too.
This is the forth book I have bought in this James Patterson series. I enjoy reading them. The sell of these books, is a great seller. I always get a good deal and great book.
I have to say i love all of James Patterson books, he grabs your interest from the start of the book and keeps it til the end. This book is no exception. I can't wait until the next one in the series
I think it was 11 books I ordered from you. It was a great transaction. My husband and I are working our way thru them. They got here in plenty of time to give them to him for Christmas. Thank you, Jeannie
I love James patterson and this book is one of the reasons. The women's murder club is unique and it is refreshing to see a series about women - intelligent women.
The book is a page turner. Short chapters that keep you thinking I can read one more before I put it down.
Do yourself a favor and read this one even if you have not read the prior books. You can pick up this series in the middle and go from there. You will, however want to go back and read the rest when finished with this one.
Usually I am not a big fan of James Patterson. I never did like the 150 plus chapters and the easy dialog but this book kept my interest from page one. It is a story that keeps you going back for more and just when you think there is not going to be another twist he throws one at you when you least expect it. If you are looking for an easy read
Again, James Patterson gives us another heart-stopping, can't put the book down kind of detective story that we come to expect from him.
Detective Lindsay Boxer and the Women's Murder Club make a courageous return to their fourth and most chilling case ever--one that could easily be their last.
In a late-night showdown after a near-fatal car chase, San Francisco police-lieutenant Lindsay Boxer has to make an instantaneous decision: In self-defense, she fires her weapon--and sets off a chain of events that leaves a police force disgraced, an entire city divided, and a family destroyed. Now everthing she's worked her entire life for hinges on the decision of 12 jurors.
You will be on the edge of your seat waiting to read what happens next to Lindsay, her friends and family.
Excellent novel by James Patterson. The fourth in the Womens Murder Club series, this book has a great plot with twists and surprises. The ending was great....and you won't want to stop reading till you reach it. James Patterson is a masterfull storyteller.
Love the Author he keeps it interesting and throws in those twist and turns where you really don’t expect it. The characters are real; they grow with the story and keep it real. I love his subtle hints, the ones that you read now and then realize later when you find out something else in the story, great summer read, do all Five.
The book was addicting! The chapters are about 2 pages each, which makes it hard to put down! I bought it because it was on the New York Times Best Seller's List, and it got me addicted to the "murder club mystery" series! Since buying this book I've read the entire series!
This was the first James Patterson book that I have ever read. I absolutely loved this book. It was like watching a great movie. It was a quick fast paced book that never gave me time to get bored with it. Once I started reading it I didn't want to put it down. I really liked the fact that all of the loose ends and questions were solved in the end. Now I must read the other 3 in this series. ;) Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer is a great leading character. There are also very good supporting characters, such as the other cops, her circle of friends, her love interest Joe and the new characters that she meets in the town of Half Moon Bay. Two adorable characters are Lindsay's border collie Martha and Penelope the potbellied pig. This story truly does have everything; a great murder mystery with a twist, a suspenseful trial, friendships, lots of interesting characters, animals and a sweet romance.
I do like James Patterson. I have almost all of his books. This book comes as the 4th in a series about a group of professional young women who formed a clique and it has now turned to a Murder Club. The previous ones are 1st to Die, 2nd Chance, 3rd Degree and now 4th of July. There is also one that comes after which is the 5th Horseman. I cant wait to see what Mr Patterson would have for number 6. They are great reading material and I would encourage anyone who loves mystery books to get the whole series.
(A note to Ebay) They buyer was true to their word and the book was in excellent condition actually brand new. What I dislike though is that I am in the Caribbean and I dont have access to Paypal. I prefer sellers who accept international credit cards. It makes it so much easier than getting money orders. The bank charges for Money Orders in my country is high so I end up paying much more than I would like.
