Pros: Classic songs, the recorded "taps" make you feel like you're there
Cons: None
42nd Street was a 1933 musical starring Bebe Daniels and Warner Baxter. In 1980, David Merrick brought 42nd Street to Broadway and RCA brought this wonderful soundtrack to fans everywhere. All of the songs from the movie are on this album, as well as some new material. Being that I'm a tap dancer, I love that many of the songs have taps recorded on them. And they don't drown out the music, either. The story takes place during the Depression. A man named Julian Marsh is going to be putting on his last musical called "Pretty Lady" and he wants this to be his best show ever. He puts all his time.

The score is wonderful with some great standards, You're Getting to be a Habit with Me, 42nd Street, Shuffle off to Buffalo. There were many beautiful chorus girls in the show - too bad you can't see them on the CD! The music...
