This is definitely Prince at his best. The feel good cd of the year. If you though Musicology was his comeback cd, then you will be in for a great surprise with 3121. This cd was released shortly after the release of Musicology, so not to much buzz from the media. It's definitely a must for any Prince admirer.
This CD really rocks, it has his classic grove, freak , in your face lyrics. In additional to that this CD does not have a slow spot, this CD is Erotic and to the point. The song I want to satisfy you... perfect for licking the bowl... on a scale of 1 to 10 this CD is definetly 12 licks in my book....it is as good if not better than vanity five, in the sense....wake me when you done...I guess you will be the only one having fun.....Awsome!
Love It. I buy duplicate CD's of his because of the art work on his CD cases. I like to display them. Bought it because I'm a Huge PRINCE fan and like to collect his music and memorabilia.
Bought the cd for a song for a line dance and very pleased with the entire cd. Prince has always been an artist that I have found not only fascinating, but his music is different and I enjoy it.
I am a big fan of Prince, and had his 3121 cd but my husband misplaced it and I didn't want to buy a downloaded copy I wanted the original cd but didn't want to pay the full price for it again which I would have and to do if I went to a store, and eBay was a perfect way to do it, I got what I wanted at a great price and had fun bidding on it. I will use eBay again, it was great!
I've been a Prince fan for a long time, and bought this disc a couple of months ago. At first I gave it a listen, and kind of wrote it off as good, but not great. I recently caught his 3121 tour, which caused me to give this CD another listen. Now, I think its one of his best. First, it captures his range going from his new torch song "Satisfied" to the pure funk of "Black Sweat".
Also, its got some serious movers like "Get on the Boat" and "Lolita" where the NPG is in rare form. Finally, "Fury" is a ridiculously cool tune allowing Prince to channel Hendrix.
This really is a great CD, and you should buy it if you want to witness one of the greatest pop artists who is still at the peak of his abilities.
Hey, I love Prince, but only found a few songs that I really like. Jams like "Lolita" and "Incense and Candles" electrify, however, most other songs (i.e. "Te Amo Corazon") are just a little to breezy for me.
It was a gift for my sister who did not have it and I liked it because it was from a good seller and it arrived in Tip-Top shape and in great arrival time. I have had just a couple of bad experiences with sellers but 98% of the time, the purchases have been just what I ordered and if there was something wrong with it upon arrival, the sellers made it right. I love shopping on E-BAY. That is the way I spend most of my time buying for Christmas presents, gifts, etc.
I was always intrigued with the artist's music and after buying this one, I actually would say that I liked the variety of pop tunes and harmony he packaged into this one.
I'm not a huge Prince fan. I usually like 2 or 3 songs from his CD's(with the exception of Purple Rain of course), but I really like this CD. It is funky and upbeat. I especially like track 8. So, even if Purple Rain is the only Prince CD you own, you will want to change that now.
i have loved prince from the beginning of his career; posters on wall, watching Purple Rain 20 times. I even won tickets to his first concert at MSG. This album made me love him again. You can listen to this album over and over again. It is the BEST.
Prince fans, new and old will drip "Black Sweat" over this CD. Prince will keep your foot tappin' to his funky beats. His music is full of rock, jazz, funk and soul, with lyrics that touch you deep. His ingenious style will keep you "Satisfied". Prince's 3121 will get you to "The Dance" for you cannot stop moving to "3121". Spread "The Word" that Prince is releasing the funk. You will feel "Beautiful, Love and Blessed" that you purchased this CD. When I first popped this CD in, I thought the old Prince was back. If you like his old sound with some of his newer styles, you will "Love" this CD.
Prince has finally returned to his roots. This album is very close to the music he made in the late '80's early '90's. Easy to listen too and an over all good album.
I love this Cd-Have always been a big Fan of Prince. I decided to buy it when I saw Prince sing a few hits off of the Cd. I have enjoyed the Cd , and would recommend it to all to enjoy!!!!
I bought the CD because it is a Prince CD!!!! The price was right, and I had seen the Te Amo Corozon video. It is a great CD but very different from Princes older albums. Its worth the money, and would be a great gift for any Prince fan!
THis is prince at his best. All of the tracks are nice.He has cleaned up his language .Also prince did alot of guess performences to promote the album. This album is better than musicology which was his previous album. Also if you are lucky you will find a purple ticket it is to late to claim your prize.Very funky.
3121, IS AMAZING!! 100% PRODUCED BY PRINCE! IT FLOW'S WELL FROM START TO FINISH, NO FILLER'S!!...I LOVE ALL SONGS! BLACK SWEAT , IS MY FAV. TRACK! FUNKY, NOT OVER-PRODUCED! AND THE VIDEO IS PURE GENIUS!!! IN A WORLD OF OVER DONE POP FRENZY AND HYPE!!!... IT'S NICE TO SEE THAT TRUE TALENT AND ARTISTIC INTEGRITY STILL EXIST!!... NEVER MIND M-JACKSON, PRINCE IN MY OPINION IS THE "KING" OF POP!
I have always been a Prince fan. Especially in the '80's and everything I read about this cd was that it was more like his "older" 1980's style. Which it is!! I am very pleased with the CD!! Prince has definitely still got it!!
Reviews said it was like his 80's stuff. It's NOT. I have all of his old stuff, and it does not compare. I bought it new, listened once and traded it straight off on LALA.
Make no mistake - he is one of the greats. I LOVE PRINCE. But I was glad to find this CD used. "FURY", "BLACK SWEAT" and "TE AMO" are among the best. This album rocks with production, drums, sound quality. But for someone that has delivered some of music's best hooks and pop songs, this is a bummer. It is all over the place. Not a cohesive record. I feel like he slapped this together. While there is no mistaking his musical talent, I am sad to realize that he has peaked commercially. PRINCE is one of the most underated guitar heroes of our time. He should stick to that more. But at this point in his career he is probably not worried about selling more records to please the masses, so more power to the purple one.
