I had been looking for this CD for quite a while. The previous one I had was cracked. I was shocked to find this on E-Bay because it is not in the stores anymore. When it came it was brand new and still in the original plastic. I now shop E-Bay for the items I used to go to the store for. Can't beat the convenience or the prices. The items I have ordered have been received within a couple days of the auction completion. It doesn't get any better.

The two songs that make this a must have are "The Fever" and "The Promise". "Fever" is a wonderful example of a song from Bruce and the band that dives into a slightly different genre than usual, with a delightful blues-sy feel. It is quite long and features Clarence Clemons (need I say more?). The reason for buying this record is "The Promise", Bruce's follow-up to "Thunder Road." A song that has floated...

Pros:
Excellently put together CD. A very good idea.<BR/>

Cons:
Could have contained some more cuts of the box set

I just really got back into the Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street band after a long time of not really listening to him. I went to the Buffalo and Rochester, NY concerts on the recent "Rising" tour. I felt kind of reborn and suddenly remembered why I liked him in the first place. As a kid in the early 1980's I loved his piano player Roy Bittan's work. I am a musician too and he was someone I connected with. This CD has been out for a few years and contains 18 highlights from the excellent boxed set "Tracks". I am not sure why the other posters did not like it? This is not supposed to be a...
