Twelve Monkeys
Bruce Willis is spectacular in this futuristic thriller. Twelve Monkeys is about a scientist who goes back in time to try and stop the release of a toxin in the air that caused the demolition of man kind.
Overall this is one of my favorite Sci-Fi films of all time, it's innovative, creative, and tons of fun.
I didn't like this movie the first time I saw this back in '96, but after watching it a couple years ago I had to buy it, and now I watch it routinely.
Final Verdict:

Rent or Buy?: If you love Bruce Willis, you'll love this film. Although I'd recommend renting it first though, if you're not a huge sci-fi fan, just in case.

I have finally gone HD. Blu-Ray and HD-DVD are very similar in their visual quality, but, Blu-Ray is still a little better.
This movie I purchased it originally in VHS, then DVD and now HD. It is astoundingly better in HD. ALL SCI-FI NEEDS TO BE TRANSFERRED.

Just call me late to supper. Seldom do I catch a movie when released, and I had pretty much written this one off considering the reviews given. However, a recent bout with the flu and a Bruce Willis weekend on Showtime dropped this one in my lap. I'm not a big Willis fan, his shows all seem so predictable, kinda like Stallone or Jean-Claude. Color me surprised on this twisted plot and convoluted characters in the guise of James Cole (Bruce Willis) and Jeffrey Goines (Brad Pitt [I'm not a Brad Pitt fan either, so imagine my quandary]) . It actually wasn't until about midway through the movie that I remembered seeing previews for this movie several years back. Then I was excited - it had looked kinda cool and now I got to see it. I returned to rehearsals for my new production, Aida on Ice down at Rosita's Ice-A-Rama this morning. Rosita and her kin are still somewhat miffed at having to clean elephant dung off of the rink and I have packed off said elephant back to Priscilla's Performing Pets asking for a full refund and an animal with better training. I have been told that several leopards, a water buffalo, a mandrill and a Burmese python are on their way to enliven the triumphal march scene. I hope they come with their own supply of Depends.
