Twelve Monkeys is One of my fav Sci-Fi films!!! I love this movie and I think you will too!!!
Bruce Willis is spectacular in this futuristic thriller. Twelve Monkeys is about a scientist who goes back in time to try and stop the release of a toxin in the air that caused the demolition of man kind.
Bruce Willis is the main character but the supporting cast is so superb that even if Willis was replaced with a chimp this movie still would've rocked. Brad Pitt throws down a spectacular performance as the leader of an enviromental group known as the 12 Monkeys.
Overall this is one of my favorite Sci-Fi films of all time, it's innovative, creative, and tons of fun.
I didn't like this movie the first time I saw this back in '96, but after watching it a couple years ago I had to buy it, and now I watch it routinely.

Rent or Buy?: If you love Bruce Willis, you'll love this film. Although I'd recommend renting it first though, if you're not a huge sci-fi fan, just in case.

) I saw this movie for the first time about a month ago and was expecting to see a zoo movie, but it was a very strange story about time travel. Bruce is one of many survivors of a world Bio war that is selected to go back in time to try and find and stop this cataclysmic event. It's a high tech wild ride that leaves you breathless and some what depressed at the thought of such a world wide disaster. You must engage your science gear to follow this movie. I loved the acting as well as the theme, but I'm a Sci-fi Einstein fan.

Could be Gilliam's, Willis' and Pitt's best workForget the fact that its great sci-fi, a great thriller, and incredibly entertaining. Just the fact that such an original piece of filmmaking got to a mass audience is amazing enough. Especially if you're a fan of any of these talented people above, you owe it to yourself to see a project they all beleived in and committed to doing 100%. Why the popular opinion about Brad Pitt as an overrated pretty boy has persisted is beyond this reviewer, but if there's a disagreement somewhere still, this film shows how truly talented an actor he has always been. Willis, too.

12 Monkeys rivals Blade Runner as the greatest Sci-Fi movie of all time.
The thin line between reality and fantasy fades, then disapears completely in this dark-toned, post apocolyptic Sci-fi thriller starring Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt.
After a virus destroys most of the Earth's population in the near future, the remaining survivors are forced to live underground.
Bruce Willis stars as James Cole, an unwilling "volenteer" who is sent back in the future by the "scientists" to collect information about the virus that may allow them to one day regain the surface of the planet.
Brad Pitt is fantastic in his role of Jeffrey Goines, a crazy, yet brilliant son of a world class genetic scientist, played by Christopher Plummer in his usual "over the top" style.
Though 12 Monkeys can be considered a "guy movie", it is a "must see" for all Sci-Fi fans.

Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis are two of the greatest actors in modern time. This action packed movie is only for the open minded, twisted people in the world. Bruce plays a prisoner who is forced to go back in time to collect viral data samples for shady scientist. Brad plays a crazy insane asylum patient who takes funny to a whole other level. This movie is defiantly one for the collection.

12 Monkeys DVDWe're real fans of director Terry Gilliam, and this is a terrific movie! Even though Bruce Willis is not my favorite actor, he's very good in this suspenseful and sometimes confusing plot. Everything does come together in the end in the story, and Gilliam's way of making it do so is unique -- as we've come to expect from him. At the time it was released, I definitely thought it was the best performance we'd yet seen from Brad Pitt.
We owned this movie on video, and opted to buy it on DVD, as it's one we want to keep in our library. Every time I look at it, I find new things to admire and enjoy!

great plot, madelaine stowe fan, excellent supporting actors with interesting plot twist and time travel to complicate things in an action-packed way. a must have.
