All through the year 2000, Pearl Jam had their fans shaking their heads in amazement... no doubt muttering "how cool are these guys?" all the while. That year, Pearl Jam treated us to a wonderful, expansive tour in support of their sixth studio album, Binaural... no doubt a treat for PJ fans, who all know that Pearl Jam is the best live band around. After touring the planet, specifically Europe and the United States, Pearl Jam decided to give fans something they have always wanted: full, complete CD s from EVERY European and US tour dates. For fans who love bootlegs, this is a Godsend, as many of these recordings can be quite costly (up to $50.00 or more), if bought on the black market , which would basically be Ebay. So, after all the touring was complete, the band wound up releasing a whopping 72 double CD s, recorded directly from the soundboard, and then mixed by Brett Eliason. After it was announced that Pearl Jam would release their entire 2000 tour on double disc sets to the world, I quickly made a vow not to even try to review them all. For one, while the order of songs changes nightly, most times there are a good 15-20 songs that are played every night, just in different spots. For two, I have no interest in trying to detail a 72 date tour in a series of reviews. Up until now, the only other "official bootleg" I have written about was the one documenting the band's 10 year anniversary show in Las Vegas. I haven't even listened to Pearl Jam in the last 4-5...

It's been a long haul for Seattle's own Pearl Jam, and what a way to end it right in their home town. On November 6th 2000, Pearl Jam finished their last show of their Binaural tour, and did they make it an extra special one. With 30 tracks and many hours of music, this live show is just plain classic. If any of you went to this show, you'd know how memorable it was. If you are like me, and live far away from Seattle, pick this one up to try to capture the experience. In my mind, it does that very well.
